Bistro Jacques is a new French inspired restaurant in Shrewsbury. Located at the junction of Pride Hill and Mardol. It offers a rustic French theme and describes itself as an authentic French restaurant offering true gallic style cusine boasting traditional French favourites such as Coq Au Vin and Boeuf Bourguignon.
Heavy wood furniture set in a quirky and rustic theme make for a pleasant atmosphere. Seating is available upstairs too, the layout feels open and relaxed.
The menu changes daily according to fresh produce availability however, they make no mention of any locally sourced produce. They offer a small breakfast menu at weekends and pre theatre dinner at a very reasonable £11.95 for three courses. The lunch time menu is some what disappointing but still good value at £8.95 for three courses.
Bistro Jacques is a nice addition to Shrewsbury Town Centre and worth a visit but I would recommend the evening menu as opposed to the lunch time special offer.
Service was excellent and staff were more than accommodating.
