Ibiza Sunset (Photo credit: ST33VO)
I’m off to Ibiza in 7 weeks for our annual trip to the glorious white isle and I cannot wait. What does Ibiza mean to me? Amazing sunsets, beautiful turquoise seas and incredible beaches, friendly inspiring people and places and gorgeous restaurants in the most amazing landscapes. Every year we go and every year I do not want to leave. My aim in life is to one day have a villa in Ibiza and retire there. If you have not been yet…I urge you to go. So I am trying to be extra healthy at the moment but I still enjoy the odd treat and there is no better way than to bake your own…food is pleasure and I would never give up tasty treats completely; just have them in moderation and exercise.
A recent trip to France meant one thing for myself and friends…food and wine! Staying in the Northern, Guines region at La Bien Assise campsite we were lucky enough to have a fabulous onsite restaurant which is also available to non-residents.
La Ferme Gourmande is most definitely worth a visit. Gourmet food and a substantial menu in a beautifly but modestly converted barn forming part of the estate make for a pleasant evening. The interior is rustic with Scandinavian influences modern but comfortable.
I would recommend one of the special menus offering three courses at very reasonable prices. You will be pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes at La Ferme so resist the temptation of free bread…I did not and found myself struggling with the third course! The three course menu i chose was €29 very reasonable. The menu changes according to the season and what the local region has to offer but you certainly won’t be stuck for choice.
Roast Pork, beautifuly cooked and a generous portion. Enjoy.
